Sue Ellen Echard is our full time Minister of Music and Organist where she directs 5 ensembles of choirs and handbells. She holds a Bachelor of Science in theology, a Bachelor of Music in Church Music and a Master of Sacred Music Degree from Westminster Choir College. At Westminster, she was an organ student of Eugene Roan and studied choral conducting with Allen Crowell. More recently she studied organ for a year with Mark Laubach of St. Stephen’s Pro-Cathedral in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Sue Ellen has been a Kindermusik teacher, a choral director on the staff of the Bel Canto Children’s Chorus and worked on the residential, management and music staff of the Royal School of Church Music at the King’s College Course in Wilkes-barre for many years. She has been published in the National Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians and the book “Reinventing Worship” edited by Brad Berglund. She has been an active church musician, choral director, organist and piano teacher for 25 years specializing in building graded choir programs.
Sue Ellen is married to Mark Moliterno, bass-baritone, voice teacher at Westminster Choir College and founder of YogaVoice®. Sue Ellen and Mark collaborate in coaching work with choral groups, pianists, soloists and perform together. They are friends of the Society of St. John the Evangelist and love going on retreat at Emery House in West Newbury, MA. Amidst their busy professional schedules they enjoy spending time with Mark’s three children, getting out in their kayaks, experiencing the out of doors, reading books on spirituality, sound and healing, yoga, liturgy, art, theology and faith and being entertained by their dogs Dobson and Bindi.
